Sister Juanita Speller
Survivor of a very brutal crime in New York City
...I was a victim of a very brutal crime here in NYC...
In New York City alone there have been over 768 violent crimes committed against women. I had a very good friend of mine who works in Corrections, and is now a Deputy. When we were dating years ago we would practice these techniques together and it was so great.
Him also being an ex-marine really put the desire in my heart to further investigate these classes which I had been making plans to do prior to the attack. Things just happened that threw me off and unfortunately I never got the chance to do so.
My ex, the marine studied the Vee Arnis Jitsu techniques for many years when the school was located on Lafayette Avenue some years ago. I have been a Missionary In Christ since and the day of my attack I was forcefully pushed in from behind and attacked for what seemed like hours. The only thing that saved me, after he kept repeatedly attacking me while I was face down, was prayer and this scene that I'd witnessed in one of your demo videos.
The memory of those Vee Arnis Jitsu tactics that my ex had showed me kicked in while I was fiercely battling with my attacker, I finally was able to counter him. I was able to gather my strength and reach for a pair of scissors that had fallen and scattered on the floor after me and my attacker had fought violently after about an hour. All I can rememeber is stabbing and cutting, and trying to break and kill in the fight of my life.
He was brutally stabbed at least 30-50 times and even though he somehow managed to flee after my counter-attack it was one of the worst events of my entire life. I remember laying there, I was left too truamatized to immediately get up and respond. I couldn't even get the strength to scream, my attacker was successful in fleeing and as far as I know still has not been apprehended to this day.
I am writing this letter with great faith and encouragement, hoping and praying that somehow your organization can find a way to mass advertise these unique techniques more openly to the public and mainly I am praying that you can somehow get this information out more publically to women.
The Vee Arnis Jitsu techniques are a highly effective, life saving form of martial arts and even though I am suffering great pains still in my upper body I am working steadfastly to find alternative means of pain management so I can strengthen my body to come in and take all of these empowering self-defense classes.
I have never been a student of the Vee Arnis Jitsu techniques, but had it not been for my ex-marine boyfriend using me as a partner daily when we were dating, I would not have been able to remember that one life saving technique that enabled me to get the attacker off of my back and somehow counter-attack to try and save my life. In return I don't know where I'd be.
...I will never give up nor will I ever give in, the devil will never win here. The Marines have a saying, "Never let the enemy see you sweat" and I believe that. I'm very feminine, but a tough cookie and I will find a way to come back and beat the pain. As soon as I do I am heading straight down to you guys. I will soon be ordering some of those videos too.
Please I do strongly encourage you to find a way to mass market these techniques and make it better known to the general public, especially to the women here in NYC. There have been way too many violent attacks on women just in the past year alone. We need to get more information on the various ways we can protect ourselves.
I refuse to live here as a victim. I am getting my life back slowly day by day. I am a Missionary In Christ, God gave me The Victory!! I won't quit, and I won't fail. I owe great thanks to all of the students & instructers of the Vee Arnis Jitsu school...their training saved my life.
God Bless and thank you once again, please keep up the good work,
Sister Juanita Speller / Missionary In Christ
